PowerHouse Parent Academy is a new community of learners designed to benefit parents and caregivers of children with special communication needs. There are many children from birth to 21 who would benefit from services with a speech-language pathologist. Challenges to this include a lack of therapists, including scheduling or availability concerns; cost of services; and family obligations. PowerHouse Parent Academy was created to give parents back their power in learning about communication expectations and intervention strategies so they can help their children to the best of their ability and make a choice when individualized services are needed.
